автор: Tanya Ignatenko, дата: 30-05-2007 11:56 Dear Lenka, You did not have to pass away in order to learn how much people adored you, Now when you are far away, I am sure, you still feel this love. You were a big part of my life, we have been close friends since 1982. We worked in the same school, we had our “dachas” in the same place – Monino, we even started thinking about our second children at the same time. Your Seryozha was born on October 13, 1984, and my Nadya was born on November 30. You were the first one I called from the hospital to share the news. Later when our families visited each other, and we used to put our babies across the sofas and could talk for hours. I still remember the tiniest sneakers you bought in Checkoslovakia for my 2-year old Nadya. I remember a day when our moms stayed with the babies in Monino, and they let us go to the movie theater. It was a rainy day, and we were running across the potato field with our boots and umbrellas feeling absolutely happy. We needed each other. I was, probably, the only person in Moscow who did not mind when hot water was turned off in June. Why should I? It was a good chance to visit you because you had hot water at this time. You used to cook your famous pelmenys and treat me with all kinds of the tastiest stuff which was so hard to get at that time. I cannot forget our trip to Riga with the schoolchildren aged 12 to 17, when we stayed in a dom otdykha and there was a new French comedy on. We were so scared that the children might be lost, and the movie theater seemed to be a very safe place, and you said “Everybody will go!” When the movie started we realized that it was a big mistake, because there were many sexual scenes, but that was too late. The audience was laughing, and we were dying with laughter. We just imagined that the children would share this movie with their parents and they would say, ”Elena Leonidovna told us to go”. I remembered our performances in school, and though we worked with seniors, and all of them had to go to the Preparatory courses, they could not deny you when you said, “Please, for my sake, go over the song again” And they did it over and over for you. I am sure that you were a wonderful starting point in their life and a powerful driving force. It just occurred to me that we never quarreled. I remember you every day. I still wear the clothes and the jewelry you gave me as presents, your voice is still in my ears, I even hear your intonation. I often think, “What would Lenka say to that?” Life is so unfair! A big tragedy happened almost five years ago… Yours, Tanya Ignatenko (Los Angeles. 2007) |
