бдительностьThese days many Russians remember ‘Nord-Ost’

For now there is no information about a terrorist attack being prepared against Russia, but there is an unavoidable impression that one is imminent. It all began Friday afternoon when the evening editions of the electronic mass media reported an appeal by the federal operational headquarters of the National Anti-terrorism Committee (NAK), asking for all citizens to be alert. The next day the atmosphere in the large cities of the nation was frightening, while the populace relived the fears of ‘Nord-Ost’ and the apartment blasts on the Kashirsk highway.

Sort of a statement

abstract2001.livejournal.comWith regard to presidential elections in 2008, I do not endorse any of the declared and ‘media-betrothed’ candidates. I do not endorse any of the ‘successors’. I do not support Kasyanov. Kasparov is not running for president, so there is no talk about this.
Therefore, with regard to ‘Nord-Ost’ and Beslan, my position is simple: I must do everything so that any future president, whoever this may be, believes that the uninvestigated terrorist attacks, and the unpunished perpetrators, are HIS PROBLEM, and not problem of “departing President Putin.”

The fourth airplane

The author on himself:

A rogatina is a well-known weapon used in bear hunting, though it can be used against wild boar. Imagine a double-edged blade, 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) in length with a similar hand guard, planted in a strong wooden shaft. The idea is to make the bear climb onto its back legs, jam the blade into it chest (the guard does not allow the blade to slip all the way through the bear) and then set the staff in the ground so that the beast using his own strength and weight impales himself. The rogatina was most likely thought up for fighting nomads, penetrating armor, impaling riders and horses, and preventing their breaking through a formations. Rogatina. The nagatina (naginata) is a little-known weapon used in hand-to-hand combat by Japanese samurais and their gods. Imagine a samurai sword on a staff.

Наша цель — терроризмSeptember 11th, 2001. Four airplanes are flying to their destinations. In these aircraft are flying beautiful, self-assured people who believe in God, all vibrant in the belief that their view of the modern world is more correct than that those whom they are carrying to death, whom they believe are truly guilty, and truly must die.

The capture of hostages – how to negotiate with terrorists
Written by Сергей Бунтман

By Sergey Buntman

Эхо МосквыRadio Echo of Moscow, on the program “We’re looking for the exit”

SERGEY BUNTMAN: Good evening, this is Sergey Buntman on the microphone and today “we’re looking for the exit”. How and in what way can one negotiate with terrorists and with terrorist organizations that take hostages? Our reason for discussing this is the possible agreement on exchanging the Israeli corporal, Gelad Shalit, for 450 Palestinian prisoners. This is an absolute trade – they are paying with these prisoners through middlemen from Egypt, and there’s a chance that in six months Gelad Shalit will be returned. Today we’re going to discuss, of course, much more than just the Israeli situation, and our guests are Anatoly Yermolin, Member of Parliament and former chief of a combat operational unit of ‘Vimpel’. (Trans note: ‘Vimpel’ and ‘Alfa’ are FSB’s special weapons units similar to the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team.)

ANATOLY YERMOLIN: Good evening.

SERGEY BUNTMAN: And Valery Borshchov is a human rights advocate and co-chairman of the human right’s party ‘Apple’. Hello

.

VALERY BORSHCHOV: Good evening.
