DNA test confirms U.S. eliminated Usama bin-Laden
Written by РБК

ImageA DNA test confirmed with 99.9 percent accuracy that the U.S. military destroyed «number one terrorist» and leader of al-Qaeda, Usama bin-Laden during a special operation in Pakistan, reported representatives of President Barack Obama's administration to the Associated Press.
In this case, Reuters notes that these test results for now give only a «high probability» of confirming the death of the ideological mastermind of international terrorism, while final results of the DNA analysis will be ready in a few days.
The leader of the Islamist terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, Usama bin-Laden, was killed today in a mansion in the city of Abbottabad, about 50 km from Islamabad, Pakistan's capital. According to Barack Obama, a week earlier U.S. special services received reliable information on the whereabouts of the international terrorist.
On direct orders of Barack Obama, a surgical strike aimed at destroying bin-Laden was carried out on May 2nd (May 1st in the U.S. time zones). Pakistani authorities assisted the United States in the operation, and U.S. commandos personally confirmed bin-Laden's identity.
Meanwhile, former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf criticized the United States, saying that the U.S. operation to remove bin-Laden «violates the boundaries of a sovereign state», even though he admitted that the elimination of the number one terrorist «is a positive step”.
»This is a very positive step, having a positive impact in the long run," Musharraf told journalists in Dubai, where he now lives. At the same time, Musharraf warned against claiming victory ahead of schedule, according to Reuters.
«We won a battle, but the war against terrorism will continue», the politician said, adding that he expects in the near future more outbreaks of violence in the region against a backdrop of radical sentiments and a lust for revenge.
